Job Title: Domestic Assistant
Location:Hythe Marina Village, Southampton (SO45)
Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor / Home Manager
Job Purpose:
To ensure the care home is clean, safe, and well-maintained, creating a comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors by delivering high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the premises.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out daily cleaning duties in resident rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, kitchens, and other parts of the care home in accordance with cleaning schedules.
2. Ensure that all equipment and materials are used safely and stored correctly.
3. Refill cleaning supplies and report any shortages or issues with equipment to the supervisor.
4. Handle and dispose of waste, laundry, and contaminated materials in line with infection control policies.
5. Assist in maintaining a pleasant and welcoming environment, ensuring residents dignity and privacy are always respected.
6. Report any maintenance or health and safety issues promptly.
7. Follow all health and safety, COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), and infection control procedures.
