An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Specialised Respiratory Physiologist to join the paediatric respiratory physiology team. The successful candidate will be skilled in performing a range of respiratory function and sleep investigations, with the knowledge and expertise to interpret and report test findings.
Responsibilities
* Perform a wide range of paediatric respiratory and sleep investigations across outpatient clinics and ward settings, including spirometry, bronchodilator response testing, full pulmonary function tests using body plethysmography and transfer factor, bronchial challenge tests, cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET), multiple breath nitrogen washout testing, induced sputum, exhaled nitric oxide testing, hypoxic challenge tests, hyperventilation studies and earlobe capillary sampling.
* Set up, download and analyze overnight saturation, capnography and multi-channel sleep studies.
* Support departmental audits, assess new diagnostic equipment and participate in research and development projects, including clinical and non‑clinical trials.
* Contribute to service improvement initiatives and support the development of other staff.
Placement
This role has been created to support Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) pathways and will predominantly deliver services at Leicester Royal Infirmary Hospital and Hinckley CDC.
