Clinical Psychologist in Learning Disabilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and committed Psychological Therapist (qualified HPCP registered Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist) to join the expanding Learning Disability Services in North Essex. The successful candidate will work within multidisciplinary teams including Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Arts Therapists, and Community Nurses.
This Band 7 role is a development position, with potential to progress to Band 8a upon acquiring the necessary skills, knowledge, and competencies.
This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week, with consideration for part-time employment. The primary base will likely be Tekhnicon House, Braintree, but work across other areas covered by the Trust may be required.
The post involves implementing psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions for individuals across various ability levels, and supporting their families and carers. Responsibilities may include community and inpatient services.
You will join a well-established Psychology service, receiving supervision from an experienced Clinical Psychologist. The Trust offers training and professional development opportunities, including collaborations with the University of Essex and University of Hertfordshire. There are opportunities for research, teaching, and engagement in CPD activities such as systemic therapy, EMDR, CBT, and Narrative approaches. Our model promotes an integrative approach to psychological therapies.
Applicants must be HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologists, possess a valid driving license, and have access to a car unless prevented by a disability under the Equality Act 2010.
