The role of the Business Development Manager – Plant Hire & Earthworks will involve:
* 90% internally based, selling a distributed range of plant hire, civils products, and earthworks
* 10% of the role on the road visiting clients and upselling across the North West
* Responsible for management and growth of the external sales team
* Initially, a purely new business role focused on creating sales and relationships
* Selling into large house builders, main-contractors, subcontractors, developers and general public
* Deal with inbound customer enquiries in person and via telephone & email
* Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their business demands
* Create, establish, develop and maintain strong business and customer relationships
* Ensure excellent account management and customer service for existing clients
* Typical order values ranging from £0 - £5m
The ideal applicant will be a Business Development Manager – Plant Hire & Earthworks with:
* Must have extensive Sales experience within plant machinery, civils & drainage, earthworks aggregates, heavyside building products, tools, fencing, sleepers, planks or related market sectors
* Ideally have Sales experience selling to Large House Builders, Main-Contractors, or Blue-Chip Companies
* Proven experience managing / growing a team would be greatly preferable
* Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
* IT literate (Microsoft Office)
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, reliable and ambitious
* Exceptional standards of customer service
