About the Role
Royal Mail is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager for its Warrington site. You will play a key role in driving cultural change and will be responsible for the performance of your Workshop(s), focusing on key maintenance indicators including safety, legal compliance, cost, people, and stakeholder engagement.
This is an exciting time as we work towards our goal of an all-electric delivery fleet by 2035, managing over 50,000 vehicles and trailers. Your role involves vehicle maintenance, accident repairs, and managing fuel and supplier contracts.
Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with legal and safety policies, meet safety targets, and deliver maintenance services efficiently.
* Optimize workshop operations to industry standards and implement changes effectively.
* Lead, engage, and develop the workshop team through effective communication and coaching.
* Achieve performance targets and manage customer SLAs using performance management techniques.
* Maintain ISO 9001 standards and support continuous improvement activities.
* Collaborate with union colleagues to manage local IR interfaces.
You will also oversee mobile sites and sub-locations under your control.
About You
You must be fully qualified at least to IMI Level 3 in Light or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or an equivalent qualification. You should have proven leadership experience in maintenance operations and industry knowledge.
You should also be able to:
* Manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
* Influence and deliver results through people.
* Manage relations with Trade Union partners.
* Lead, develop, and coach teams for performance improvement.
* Be flexible to cover multiple shifts and willing to travel within your area.
Next Steps
The selection process includes a face-to-face interview with competency-based questions, a presentation, and a scenario exercise. Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 14th July at Warrington F&MS.
