Job Description

This role acts as a bridge between IT and the business to ensure seamless system integration with business needs and serves as the first point of contact for user queries at the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service. About the role:
1. £20.44 per hour
2. 36 hours a week
3. Location: Lisburn HQ
4. Temporary up to 6 months with possible extension
What you'll be doing in this role:
5. To be responsible for the management of all aspects of the Operational Assurance & Improvement (OA&I) business support function to ensure the provision of an exemplary, customer focussed administrative service to all internal and external customers.
6. To be responsible for leading the system management and maintenance of Operational Assurance & Improvement Line of Business Management Information System, as the subject matter expert providing guidance and advice to all users, ensuring all services delivered are managed, fit for purpose, developed and maintained in line with regulatory compliance and governance requirements.
7. To be responsible for all current and future infrastructure and licensing requirements.
8. To coordinate the management of the Operational Assurance information system and work closely with both the NIFRS IT Department and BSO Information Technology Services to ensure the effective delivery and support of management information systems for Operational Assurance & Improvement work-streams.
9. To be the principle point of contact regarding Operational Assurance & Improvement systems to include development work; fault management; and query resolution.
10. To assist in the development and implementation of strategy documents, plans, policies and procedures to support management information and SharePoint systems.
11. To provide advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on all aspects of administration of the Operational Assurance & Improvement databases/SharePoint/MIS, including preparing training and awareness materials and presentations and delivery of same, as required.
12. To ensure assurance processes are managed in line with the corporate approach, including ensuring the availability and continuity of information concerning operational assurance.
13. To liaise with senior managers and other stakeholders throughout NIFRS to ensure the accurate production of operational assurance registers containing details of all operational assurance activities, outcomes, non-conformities and learning.
14. To ensure the continuous availability of up-to-date records and information concerning operational assurance activities, follow-up activities and learning.
15. To administer the system for operational assurance and subsequent analyses
What you'll need for this role:
16. Possess a HND or equivalent level qualification in a relevant subject e.g. information technology, systems management or business management.
17. A minimum of two years’ recent experience supporting and developing management information systems (MIS) or SharePoint sites in line with best practice requirements e.g. the storage, handling and management of personal information.
18. Experience of developing and producing standard reporting processes.
19. Experience of delivering process improvements through the use of MIS systems.
20. Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that will permit the candidate to meet the requirements of the post in full
