Service type: Support worker in Adults Day Centre Learning disabilities and Autism Location: Tottenham Salary: £15-£16/Hour Hours: 9am-4pm / Monday-Friday Full time Our day centre in Tottenham is looking for Support Workers who can support service users with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health needs. This includes providing 1:1 companionship and being confident to work independently and build strong connections with each service user. Job role/responsibilities: Being able to provide a 1:1 person-centred approach when supporting each service user with Learning Disabilities and Metal Health challenges. Creating a warm and friendly environment for all individuals attending the centre. Taking part in activities and social exercises which can include music, arts & crafts and other outdoor sports/exercises. Having adequate knowledge on de-escalation strategies when responding to displays of Challenging or Complex Behaviour from a service user. Raising any safety concerns and issues to the team leader or supervisor at the service. You M ust have: At least 6 months experience working in the Health & Social care sector, within a day centre or similar setting. Must have experience working with one or more of the following client groups: Vulnerable Adults, Learning Disabilities, 1-1, Autism, Mental Health and Challenging Behaviour. Must Hold a valid DBS within the last 12 months - preferably registered onlineor be able to complete a new one. A confident and outgoing attitude towards working with vulnerable individuals.
