Our client is a highly successful business that has experienced extensive growth over the last 10 years. They remain extremely acquisitive, securing 2-4 additionalpanies every month via their M&A and Corporate Finance team.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Acquisition Accounting, you will be responsible for managing acquisitions from successfully integration into the relevant UK business to liquidating the dormant Limitedpany.
You will have overall responsibility for the integration of all finance activities for new acquisitions and be the key finance contact to support all finance integration related activities. You will ensure that any queries raised in relation to Finance & Accounts are fully understood and that all outstanding issues identified throughout the due diligence process are resolved. The integration of monthly reporting into the core management accounts process in accordance with the group timetable and control of working day one ie reports in the initial months fall under your remit, as well as reviewing of acquired businesses accounting policies, identification of variances to group policies ( revenue recognition) and making rmendations for alignment.
You will review recently acquired entities' internal controls and make an initial assessment of the control environment as well as implement group controls in acquired entities. Where the trade of the acquired business is moved to a different legal entity, you will have overall responsibility for the winding down and eventual liquidation of the legal entity.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong analytical and numerical skills and experience working with multiple accounting & reporting systems. You will be able to build effective and productive working relationships with internal stakeholders and clients across the Group at all levels of the organisation and be highly collaborative with the ability to adapt your style, think on your feet and have a can-do mentality. Excellent organisation skills and the ability to work well in a team are essential.
