Technical Product Manager – Electrical Products
Location: Hybrid (Ansty /London)
Salary: Up to £75,000 + Up to 20% bonus
Outsource UK is recruiting on behalf of a major UK retailer for a UK Technical Manager with extensive experience in electrical products. This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving the technical strategy and ensuring product compliance, safety, and quality across a broad range of electrical product categories.
About the Role As the UK Technical Manager, you will:
* Lead and deliver the technical strategy for electrical product categories, driving innovation, customer satisfaction, and compliance.
* Manage and develop a team of Lead Technologists, Technologists, and Assistant Technologists.
* Collaborate with commercial, design, sourcing, and sustainability teams to bring outstanding, customer-focused products to market.
* Ensure that all new product development aligns with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement by using customer feedback, complaints, and benchmarking to enhance product quality and performance.
* Partner with global technical teams, including colleagues in Asia, to ensure production consistency and legal compliance.
* Deliver strategic product development plans and contribute to wider technical business strategies.
* Lead best practice and continuous improvement initiatives across the UK and global technical teams.
* Manage supplier performance and ensure optimal factory capabilities.
* Drive accountability across your team for new product launches, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
* Ensure technical documentation, product specifications, and validation procedures are accurate and robust.
What We're Looking For Essential:
* Proven technical and manufacturing experience in electrical products.
* Deep understanding of product safety, quality, and UK regulatory compliance.
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of coaching high-performing teams.
* Commercial awareness and ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.
* Experience in resolving complex product issues and embedding learnings into future development cycles.
