We are looking to appoint a Junior Clinical Fellow in Medical Microbiology for a 3-month fixed term. The successful candidate will work with a team comprising 3 Consultant Microbiologists, one specialty doctor, and 2 clinical scientists to provide a comprehensive Clinical Microbiology service for Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH) and Wirral Primary Care.
The post is based at Arrowe Park Hospital, where most inpatient wards are located. The diagnostic laboratory, Chester and Wirral Microbiology Service (CWMS), is jointly owned by WUTH and Countess of Chester NHS Trust, situated in Bromborough, Wirral.
Candidates must hold Full GMC registration with a current license to practice.
This position is suitable for doctors seeking to gain clinical insight and experience in microbiology, which may support future training in Infectious Disease/Microbiology.

Clinical Duties

They provide a comprehensive, efficient, and high-quality microbiology and infection control service to in-patients and out-patients at Arrowe Park Hospital and Clatterbridge Hospital, as well as primary care on the Wirral.
The candidate will integrate into the team to enhance the service. The post is based at Arrowe Park Hospital, with support extended to the microbiology laboratory in Bromborough.
