Electrical Engineer-Harness
Humanoid is the first AI and robotics company in the UK, creating the world’s most advanced, reliable, commercially scalable, and safe humanoid robots. Our first humanoid robot HMND 01 is a next-gen labour automation unit, providing highly efficient services across various use cases, starting with industrial applications.
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team based in London, UK.
Responsibilities
1. Interact with cross-functional teams: Design, Electrical, Controls to gather overall requirements
2. Design and optimize 3D harness routing and packaging for electromechanical systems across different development stages, from early prototypes to major design releases
3. Create harness drawings and rework instructions for complex robot wire harnesses
4. Generate and maintain well-documented and detailed drawings, parts lists, and build manuals
5. Ensure all designs meet industry standards, local regulations, and safety requirements
6. Participate in creating test procedures to ensure the quality of harness assemblies
7. Work with external suppliers and internal prototyping build teams
8. Select, evaluate, and procure harness components for prototype iterations
9. Troubleshoot and perform quality checks on harnesses during fabrication, assembly, and system bring-up stages
Expertise
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals: thermal management, heat dissipation, vibration, strength, durability, corrosion prevention, materials, etc.
* Proficiency in design CAD software (preferably SolidWorks and Altium)
* Experience in creating cable harness drawings, routing layouts, single-line diagrams, build drawings, harness schematic capture, and parts lists
* Fundamental knowledge of low and high voltage systems, EMC strategies, and robotics/industrial communication protocols (CAN, EtherCAT, Ethernet, RS-485)
* Experience with electrical lab equipment such as multimeters, continuity testers, and Megaohmmeters
* Basic knowledge of mechanical prototyping processes including 3D Printing, CNC Machining, Welding, and Sheet Metal Fabrication
