Job DescriptionPart Time Wards Administrator | Spire Murrayfield - Edinburgh | 22.5 hours per weekSpire Murrayfield have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administrator to support the Wards on a permanent basis.Duties And ResponsibilitiesGreet and receive patients, visitors and other members of staff to the wards in a polite and professional manner and to undertake general reception dutiesAnswer the telephone and relay accurate messages as appropriateMaintain effective communications between patients, their relatives and the team within the departmentEscort patients from reception for admission. Explain the room layout and facilities, deliver post and newspapersLiaise with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communications are maintained within the departmentReports complaints or concerns to the Nurse in charge/shift leaderAssist in the delivery and evaluation of care of patients admitted to the ward in accordance with Spire policiesWith due regard to risk management policies and procedures, participate in maintaining a safe environment for patients, relatives, carers and staffEnsure that patient notes are up to date and in correct order and are taken to the appropriate place be it coders or secretary when a patient episode is complete. Ensure that all filing of results and other information is accurately filed in the patient’s notesLiaise with the all relevant department and the patient to ensure accurate data in the system (admissions, discharge and transfer of patients)Assist in orientation of new staff to the wardAssist with the ordering of ward/unit stores and undertake the ordering of all stationery ensuring availability at all timesTaking and distributing accurate minutes for team meetings in a timely mannerUpdate SAP with any augmented nursing care communicated by the nursing team to ensure transfer and charging details are updatedUpdate SAP with extended length of stay communicated by the nursing team.
