You will be joining a multi-skilled team with responsibility for key areas such as the development of asset management strategies, systems and processes, the co-ordination of road works, contract development and monitoring and the provisional of a technical support function to the roads teams.
Our term maintenance provider, Hochtief, play an important part in the delivery of our work programmes and the development of this relationship is key to the role. It is essential that any service continues to evolve and you will play an active role in identifying, trialing, and testing new initiatives such as the use of alternative materials or enhanced technology as well as developing digital ambitions.
With an HNC, or equivalent level qualification in a relevant discipline, you will have significant knowledge and experience in Road Maintenance. You will have experience of working with contractors, external and internal stakeholders and working in partnership would be an advantage.

You will be able to adapt to new technologies that help to improve service delivery and the customer experience. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality services to our citizens and communities and you will promote the Council’s vision, values and reputation.
You will be business and customer focused with a demonstrable record of, identifying opportunities and achieving outcomes. You will be self-motivated with a flexible and collaborative approach to work and have the ability to cope with multiple and changing demands whilst meeting tight deadlines. You will also have a good understanding and knowledge of road policy and legislation.
With excellent organisational and IT skills, you will be able to utilise various Microsoft Office packages, and be a clear written and verbal communicator, with the ability to analyse information and clearly communicate with customers, contractors and other stakeholders.
Working Pattern (35-Hours)
Monday - Thursday: 8:45am - 4:45pm (including a 55-minute unpaid break) and
Friday: 8:45am - 4:15pm (including a 50-minute unpaid break)
