Business Development Officer role at Learning Curve Group (LCG). This is a permanent, full-time position based in Exeter, EX3 0DB, with 22.5 hours per week and working 3 days per week.

Role information

Learning Curve Group are a national training and education specialist. We work with further education providers, employers, and learners to help them achieve success. Our Purple People are dedicated to delivering success and transforming lives through learning.

As a Business Development Officer, you will be responsible for recruiting new learners, building strong networks, and generating leads to meet and exceed enrolment targets. This is a target-based role that combines relationship-building, sales expertise, and community engagement. You will represent our Hair & Beauty Academies with professionalism, ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to learners’ success and wellbeing.


Duties

* Promote hair and beauty apprenticeship programmes to employers through face-to-face visits, networking events, and targeted outreach.
* Generate leads, manage employer pipelines, and convert opportunities into apprenticeship starts.
* Build sustainable relationships with employers, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and remain engaged throughout the learner journey.
* Manage the onboarding process for new apprentices, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with funding and audit requirements.
* Work to agreed KPIs, including learner recruitment and retention targets.
* Represent LCG at sector events and employer meetings to raise awareness of Hair & Beauty apprenticeships.
* Conduct role in line with company values and expected behaviours.
* Promote equal opportunities and recognition of diversity throughout the company.
* Comply with Safeguarding, Prevent and Health and Safety Policies and be vigilant to potential concerns and risks at all times.
* Ensure confidentiality and professionalism at all times.


Essential criteria

* Proven experience in a sales or recruitment role
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* A proactive, target-driven mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
* A genuine commitment to our company values, supporting learners into their dream careers, through customised learner journeys
