Staffordshire County Council seeks an experienced information governance professional to join the Information Governance Team and support the Council during a period of significant change.
Main Responsibilities
* Support and advise service areas with data protection and cybersecurity compliance.
* Provide training and awareness across the organisation.
* Draft and review data sharing and data processor agreements.
* Manage information security breaches.
* Support a network of Information Asset Owners and maintain the Information Asset Register.
* Identify, report and manage information risks.
* Champion a culture of good data protection and cybersecurity practices.
* Proactively keep up to date with changes in law, codes of practice and guidance.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an individual with a Law degree and/or an Information Management qualification (data protection, cybersecurity, records management). The role requires an organised, enthusiastic professional who is confident providing expert advice, developing policy and articulating themselves clearly both verbally and in writing.
Shortlisting takes place on the week commencing 19 January 2026. Interviews will be held on the week commencing 26 January 2026.
