Applications are welcome for the above permanent post based at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
We are looking to appoint a Consultant Anaesthetist with a general interest to complement a department of 40 in a busy District General Hospital, with a particular interest in Obstetrics.
We provide anaesthesia for a wide range of specialty surgery including Robotics, General Surgery, Breast, ENT, Maxillofacial, Obstetrics, Gynaecology (general and oncology), Trauma and Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology and Paediatrics. Day surgery is performed at a stand-alone unit in Dunfermline. We also provide support to a new National Treatment Centre for elective Orthopaedic work.
Qualifications and eligibility
The successful candidate will have a medical post graduate qualification (i.e. FRCA, MRCP, FFICM, etc.) and be on the Specialist Register or within six months of a Certificate of Completion of Training at the time of interview.

Registration and work eligibility
Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training and the knowledge, skills and experience required for practising as an eligible specialist in the UK.

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visas and Immigrations Service.
