Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Intelligence and Resource Development Officer in the Security Directorate at Broadmoor Hospital.

The Intelligence and Resource Development Officer is responsible for assisting in the delivery of an efficient and effective security intelligence system to help ensure a safe and secure environment for all. The post holder will coordinate and administer data input for the Security Intelligence/Information Reporting system. They will have current operational knowledge of patients, their clinical/security risks, and high-risk behaviours that could impact safety and security. The role involves interrogating the security database to produce statistical analyses to support the management and reduction of incidents such as violence, aggression, security breaches, hostage situations, and other critical incidents.

Applicants must contribute to service development and possess excellent communication, investigatory, and analytical skills. Knowledge of the High Security Psychiatric Services (Arrangements for Safety and Security) Directions 2019, the National Clinical Security Framework, security policies, and procedures is essential.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work closely with Security Liaison Nurses and Postal Monitors to maintain hospital safety and security, including managing the High Risk Register and Incompatibility List. They will maintain key relationships with various internal and external stakeholders, including hospital staff, police, prison services, and other NHS Trusts.

The role involves delivering a security intelligence system that ensures a safe environment, establishing effective links with staff and external agencies, and presenting complex security information at meetings. Attention to detail, concentration, and the ability to respond to serious incidents and emergencies are crucial.

Qualifications

* Educated to ‘A Level’ or equivalent, or relevant experience
* Relevant further education and qualifications in clinical security
* Security-related qualification

* Experience working with patients in forensic services
