Purpose In this role, you will help support the delivery and embedding of the Data Governance Framework in the Markets group to enhance the quality, value, and usability of Markets data. You will provide data management and governance advice and guidance across all portfolios in the Markets Group, ensuring alignment with the overall Ofgem data governance framework. As a member of the Markets Data Management Office (MDMO), you will take direction from the Deputy Director to develop policies, processes, and guidelines for the Directorate General, with accountability for the delivery and maintenance of the data governance framework. Additionally, you will engage with stakeholders across the Markets group to help foster an environment that promotes a culture of data sharing, protection, and discovery through the improvement of data literacy. Your responsibilities will include supporting the operationalization of the data governance framework and actively collaborating with data users within multiple forums. By working across a wider range of stakeholders, you will ensure that Markets data are discoverable, useable, governed, and fit for purpose. Key Responsibilities Support the establishment and implementation of the Markets data governance framework. Attend, and where required lead, data governance forums & help facilitate data governance committees. Advise, lead, and collaborate with all data, owners, stewards, and data stakeholders. Proven experience of working effectively with stakeholders in specialist and technical roles, including Data Engineering, Data Modelling and Data Architecture Proven experience of working collaboratively across boundaries to secure buy-in and create solutions that work for all stakeholders Work with others in the Markets Data Management Office to: Develop data quality control policies, standards, processes, dictionaries, models, categorisations & definitions. Ensure support and guidance are in place for data across all areas of Markets. Maintain data governance risk and issue logs. Document and maintain data flows and models. Build trust and form close working relationships with relevant business colleagues. Person specification Role Criteria Essential Strong experience leading data governance or data quality activities for externally acquired data used for mission functions. (LEAD) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) Broad experience across all aspect of Information Management including architecture, delivery, and reporting & analytics. Good understanding of Data analysis and IT related risks and issues Desirable Worked in similar diverse organisational environments. Experience working with regulation or equivalent.
