An exciting opportunity has arisen for a world class Project Manager to join the Team in Derby or Bristol. This demanding Delivery Role reports to the VP M&A and Programme Delivery.
Digital & IT has developed a five‑year strategy, supporting the ongoing transformation within Rolls‑Royce. Executing against this strategy with pace and intensity is key to deliver Rolls‑Royce’s longer‑term corporate ambitions. This role is a project delivery role operating across the entire IT domain portfolio and supports this strategy by providing enterprise applications used by colleagues around the world in multiple businesses.
You will be working across Digital & IT and will be required to effectively engage with the other delivery teams as required. As a Project Manager, you will be required to work with Ecosystem partners and suppliers to deliver the required outcomes, including schedule, cost, scope, and ultimately business results. You will need to build effective engagement to ensure success. Project progress, risk and issues will be reported in line with the cadence defined by PPMO (Project Portfolio Management Office).
What You Will Be Doing
* Accountable for the creation and agreement of the delivery plan for Enterprise projects
* Quality assurance and sign off of any and all 3rd party Statements of Work
* Establishment of the delivery framework for delivery; scheme, Purchase Orders, PPMO Gate review etc.
* Time, cost and quality deliverables for projects
* Managing commitments and escalations both internally and with external providers
* Ensuring risk and issue processes are upheld and are actioned
* Providing the necessary level of reporting and financial management as required by PPMO
* Ensuring that project and quality plans are prepared and providing regular reports to stakeholders, steering reviews / governance
* Providing portfolio level oversight for finance and supplier performance
* Assuring that the plan focusses on the priorities of the business and is aligned with Digital & IT strategy
* Delivering the more strategic, large‑scale programmes where required
* Developing and improving the systems and processes for Enterprise Systems delivery
Preferred Requirements
* Extensive project, delivery experience in a complex, fast paced, demanding environment
* Demonstrated deep understanding of the tools and techniques for effective programme, resource and risk management
* Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence
* Commercially astute and able to effectively craft, agree and deliver against contract
* Analytical mind, able to manage complex scenarios while communicating effectively at the right level across the organisation
* Delivery focused, confident and able to make and stand by decisions
* Experience of working in a project and programme delivery focused environment
* Excellent communicator at all levels of the business, able to convert ideas into a structured narrative for the building and execution of a plan
* Ability to build and nurture a network internally and with 3rd parties to effectively deliver requirements
* Proven record of project delivery with an expert understanding of project and programme delivery tools, techniques and governance processes
