The Role
As an Accounts Senior, you will manage a varied portfolio of clients, providing high-quality accounting and advisory services while building strong, long-term client relationships. You will play an important role within the team, supporting junior staff and helping to ensure the highest standards of client service are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring all work is completed accurately and within deadlines.
* Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
* Preparing and submitting year-end accounts and VAT returns.
* Producing accounts to review stage.
* Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients, developing and maintaining strong working relationships.
* Managing client expectations and leading year-end meetings to finalise accounts.
* Supporting, mentoring, and developing junior team members.
* Contributing to process improvements and helping to drive efficiencies across the team.
* Maintaining high-quality client files and ensuring compliance with professional standards.
Requirements
1. ACA, ACCA or AAT qualification (or be part-qualified), or be qualified by experience (QBE).
2. Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment.
3. Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience preparing statutory accounts.
4. Experience using cloud-based accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
5. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
6. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
7. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
8. A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
9. A commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
