Senior Process Engineer – 12 month fixed-term contract

Responsibilities
* Senior Process Engineer within the OH Platform team (Haleon QSC).
* Support development, optimization, and technical lifecycle management of leading global Power Brands in the Oral Health category.
* Work within the Supply Chain OH Technical group with exposure to solid, semi-solid, and liquid dose forms; collaborate with marketers, R&D scientists/engineers, and lead manufacturing sites; travel to European and global sites may be required.
* Lead complex process development, scale-up, and technical transfers; support future manufacturing strategy and maintenance projects; liaise with R&D and other functions; act as technical lead for complex changes within de-risking or CoGs reduction programs; provide site support for process improvements.
* Establish as the first point of contact for OH technical product robustness reviews to ensure right-first-time commercialization at sites; support GPOs for CI projects, BARs, and risk assessments as required; collaborate with scientists, Global Product Owners, and Technical Leads; contribute to capability-building of junior engineers.
Job Purpose
* Work in the OH Technical team supporting Oral Health Power Brands.
* Lead technical change controls, tech transfers, or process continuous improvements; engage in Innovation and Maintenance strategies across sites with Quality, R&D and manufacturing teams.
* Possibly support de-risking, scale-up, cost-saving, and strategic growth projects; participate in global complex projects through partnerships with Procurement, vendors, CMOs, Haleon manufacturing sites, R&D engineers/scientists, and Quality teams.
Other key responsibilities
* Provide technical support to Haleon and contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) to solve complex issues and share learning to improve site technical independence.
* Participate in governance forums such as Product Technical Review Teams (PTRT) and Technical Review Board (TRB) as SME.
* Support technical transfers for raw materials, products, and processes to other sites.
* Lead or participate in Technical Risk Assessments (TRA/MRA) and Product Strategy Controls (PCS) related to investigations or changes.
* Manage, analyze, and identify trends in data as part of Continued Process Verification (CPV) to drive CI.
* Support site root-cause analysis investigations as part of deviation management (manufacturing issues, product release, performance, or customer complaints).
* Collaborate with Material Science and procurement on data interpretation to assess new raw material suppliers.
* Create, review and approve documents including Master Manufacturing Instructions (MMI), Change Controls, Technical Rationales, Evaluation Protocols/Reports, and Investigation Reports.
* Provide technical support and review of Regulatory Documents.
* Build capability within the team for Tech Transfers and oversee the end-to-end rollout plan.
Basic Qualifications
* BSc/BEng or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Science, Process/Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
* Knowledge/experience with semi-solids and liquid formulations.
* Knowledge of statistical principles used in process capability assessments.
* Knowledge/experience of manufacturing processes and equipment for semi-solid and liquid formulations.
* Knowledge of scientific methods (DoE, QbD, DtV).
* Technical writing skills for scientific documents and demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking.
* Knowledgeable in cGMPs and regulatory requirements; good written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred qualifications
* Experience in a technical role at a lead manufacturing site/global/regional team.
* Experience with investigation techniques and tools for process investigations and Technical Risk Assessment.
* Knowledgeable in process validation principles; PLM; statistics (Statistica).
* Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; desirable experience with Veeva.
