Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Office Job Description How will you make an impact? The Business Analyst will play a meaningful role in analyzing and understanding the processes related to the provision of legal services. The candidate will work closely with all levels of attorneys and legal professionals along with the clients supported by the Global Legal function, including Commercial Operations, Corporate Accounts, Finance, Marketing, and IT. The focus will be on projects that make it easier for employees to get support they need from the Legal function and improved service levels for customers. What will you do? This role works with the Sr. Business Analyst, Legal Operations for Thermo Fisher Scientific. Initiatives will focus on areas such as compliance, contracting processes, intake and matter management, outside counsel spend management, and will use digital strategies, including generative and analytical artificial intelligence. The role will also support projects involving multiple functions that find opportunities for continuous improvement in the delivery of broader legal services. As the role provides enterprise-wide support, it will span all Groups and Divisions, seeking to deliver consistent, consolidated solutions at scale. Key Responsibilities will include: - Conduct analysis of current business processes, strategies, and systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization. - Collaborate with key partners to capture and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. - Identify, develop and maintain detailed documentation, including business process flows, use cases / user stories, and functional specifications. - Conduct feasibility studies and impact assessments, to evaluate proposed solutions and determine their viability. - Perform data analysis and interpretation to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can drive business decision-making. - Collaborate with multi-functional teams to craft, develop, and implement innovative solutions that address identified business needs. - Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between business users and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle. - Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that solutions meet business requirements and are fit for purpose. - Support the implementation of new tools and technologies using process improvements. - Build training materials for system releases and train internal employees on new functionalities. - Provide ongoing support and training to end-users, ensuring successful adoption of implemented solutions. How will you get here? Education Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a similar subject area, or alternatively, a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience. Experience and Skills - Experience in Legal Operations and knowledge of Legal processes and technology is preferred, but not required. - Experience in developing and deploying standard methodologies, policies, procedures, and processes. - Experience working with key customer groups of Legal, Commercial, and other Business Functions - Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is important. - Familiarity with project management methodologies is a plus, but not mandatory. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Good communication skills, both verbal and written. - Ability to work closely within a team. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, specifically Sharepoint, Excel, and Word. - Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. - Solid sense of ethics and integrity. - Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. - Must be interested in learning, understanding, and applying new technologies and processes.
