Position Summary
We are seeking a Specialist Nurse and Sexual Health Adviser to deliver care in integrated sexual health clinics.
Responsibilities
* Deliver nursing care and sexual health services in integrated clinics.
* Provide expert advice on sexual health, contraception and wellbeing.
* Conduct assessments, offer counseling and manage cases sensitively and confidentially.
* Promote safe sexual practices and preventative health strategies.
* Screen for sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
* Perform diagnostic procedures, provide treatment and manage STIs.
* Conduct cervical cytology, microscopy and cryotherapy.
* Promote and issue all methods of contraception, including long‑acting reversible contraception (IUD, SDI).
* Lead partner notification for newly diagnosed HIV‑positive patients and support HIV specialist nurses.
* Support results management and partner notification coordinators (specifically BBI).
* Identify and manage sexual partners potentially exposed to STIs to prevent onward transmission.
* Understand safeguarding and manage patients with complex needs (young people, sexual assault victims, domestic abuse victims, children at risk).
* Supervise and train nursing team members (Band 5/HCA).
* Perform duties in line with FSRH, BASHH and NICE guidance.
