The Durham University Biosciences department are currently looking to recruit a number of Postgraduate Demonstrators for the 2022/2023 academic year

Marking
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the subject area
* Set and/or mark assessments according to relevant published criteria
* Keep accurate records of marks awarded, liaising with the departmental assessment team as necessary
* Provide oral and/or written feedback to students in line with departmental policy, procedures, and timescales
Demonstrating
* Guide student in the laboratory
* Assist the laboratory leader as required, such as developing enhanced experiments
* Responsible for assisting in the delivery of laboratory classes.
* Attend annual briefing for demonstrators
* Attend training sessions for each activity
* Assist the Laboratory Supervisor in her/his duties in running the laboratory session
* To be present throughout each taught session, with reasonable breaks
* To ensure safe working practices and good order in the laboratories
* Provide support for students in laboratory practical classes
* Help ensure appropriate student conduct
* May mark log books and field trip reports
