Job Details Grade: 8A Hourly Rate: £20.32 - £22.05 Salary: £37100.57 - 40257.81 per annum Contract Duration: Permanent Recruitment Profile Scottish Borders Council is looking for a motivated & forward thinking Private Rented Sector Officer (Landlord Registration) to work in our Housing Team. The successful candidate will play a key role within the Council’s Housing Strategy, Policy and Development Service by monitoring the private rented sector landlord registrations and to be the principal point of contact for private rented sector issues. Where necessary the role will also support the enforcement of unregistered private landlords and landlords that fail to meet their statutory responsibilities as set out in the Antisocial Behaviour etc (Scotland) Act 2004 and the Housing (Scotland) Act 2006. The Officer will also lead in the development and implementation of private rented sector initiatives that improve and increase the supply of good quality, well managed private rented properties and to develop and implement a robust advice and support service, including provision of a landlord forum, ensuring that private rented sector landlords comply with legislative requirements. Essential A Degree in a related discipline (e.g. social science, public policy or Housing) and demonstrable practical experience. A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability.
