We support our customers in the design, construction, commissioning and operation of their complex infrastructure projects that will shape the world of tomorrow. With operations in 17 countries and employing over 6,000 staff worldwide, our business responds to the needs of our clients by delivering high-value engineering expertise tailored to our clients’ most complex challenges.

In the UK, we have a key focus in the Nuclear sector, contributing to ground breaking projects, such as Hinkley Point C (HPC).

The Position: Learning & Development Advisor

As our new Learning & Development Advisor, you’ll have the chance to shape the development journey of professionals working on some of the UK’s most complex infrastructure and energy projects.

You will play a key role in the growth & development of Vulcain staff by working collaboratively with key stakeholders to support performance, talent development, and organisational capability, ensuring learning initiatives align with strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

* Design and deliver engaging and impactful learning across the employee lifecycle – including onboarding and key compliance training.
* Work closely with line managers to identify training and development needs, collaborating on development plans that align with business goals and support individual growth.
* Support the development of our leadership by contributing to the design & facilitation of our management programme.
* Maintain and evolve the organisation’s skills and competency matrix, ensuring it reflects current role expectations, supports succession and career planning, and highlights future capability needs.
* Take ownership and coordinate training plans, external courses bookings, and all associated tracking & compliance, alongside maintaining our training hub (LMS) and promoting it across the business.
* Contribute to the delivery of our Graduate Scheme and early careers initiatives, including check-ins, progress tracking, and alignment with development plans.
* Manage relationships with industry bodies such as the ECITB to secure funding opportunities and access accredited training solutions where appropriate.

You'll be part of a supportive, collaborative Business Support team in our UK head office, with flexibility built in - this role is part-time (32 hours/week), giving you room to make an impact and maintain balance.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who’s passionate about learning, proactive in their approach, and excited by the idea of helping technical talent reach their full potential in a fast-growing consultancy environment.

Preferred Profile:

Alongside a commitment to our values of Care & Compassion, Performance, Team Spirit, and Inclusiveness, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following:

* Experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating training programmes across a range of formats (e.g. face-to-face, e-learning, blended learning).
* Ideally, you will have completed CIPD Level 5 in Learning & Development, but we’re also open to candidates who are currently working towards it or willing to do so.
* Skilled in using Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to understand learning needs and shape solutions that support wider business goals.
* Knowledge of learning theories, instructional design, and adult learning principles.
* Confident working with stakeholders at all levels to influence and promote a learning culture.
* Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning tools.
* Based within a commutable distance of Eastington, Gloucestershire, or willing to relocate. Flexibility to attend the office for training, induction, and in-person collaboration, depending on business needs.

We offer a competitive salary tailored to your experience and background. We also offer a benefits package, both standard and enhanced, designed to support your wellbeing, development, and financial future, including:

* 25 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays, with the ability to swap bank holidays for cultural or religious celebrations
* Enhanced Maternity, Paternity, Adoption and Neonatal Care Leave
* Employee Referral Scheme
* Private Medical & Dental Insurance
* Electric Vehicle Scheme
* Cycle to Work Scheme
* Training & Development, including additional qualifications and accreditations relevant to your role
* Travel Insurance – for both business and personal travel
* Employee Assistance Programme

At Vulcain Engineering, we offer more than just a job, we offer a rewarding career with endless opportunities for growth and development. You'll be part of a talented team of professionals working on exciting and meaningful projects and making a real impact to the nuclear industry.

We offer a dynamic and collaborative work environment where your talents are valued, and your contributions are recognised.

Join us in shaping the future of the nuclear industry and driving innovation to new heights. If you are ready to take on new challenges and unlock your full potential, we invite you to apply for our position.

If you require any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know, and we will be happy to accommodate your needs.
