The Position: Learning & Development Advisor
As our new Learning & Development Advisor, you’ll have the chance to shape the development journey of professionals working on some of the UK’s most complex infrastructure and energy projects.
You will play a key role in the growth & development of Vulcain staff by working collaboratively with key stakeholders to support performance, talent development, and organisational capability, ensuring learning initiatives align with strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
* Design and deliver engaging and impactful learning across the employee lifecycle – including onboarding and key compliance training.
* Work closely with line managers to identify training and development needs, collaborating on development plans that align with business goals and support individual growth.
* Support the development of our leadership by contributing to the design & facilitation of our management programme.
* Maintain and evolve the organisation’s skills and competency matrix, ensuring it reflects current role expectations, supports succession and career planning, and highlights future capability needs.
* Take ownership and coordinate training plans, external courses bookings, and all associated tracking & compliance, alongside maintaining our training hub (LMS) and promoting it across the business.
* Contribute to the delivery of our Graduate Scheme and early careers initiatives, including check-ins, progress tracking, and alignment with development plans.
* Manage relationships with industry bodies such as the ECITB to secure funding opportunities and access accredited training solutions where appropriate.
You'll be part of a supportive, collaborative Business Support team in our UK head office, with flexibility built in - this role is part-time (32 hours/week), giving you room to make an impact and maintain balance.

Preferred Profile:
Alongside a commitment to our values of Care & Compassion, Performance, Team Spirit, and Inclusiveness, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following:
* Experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating training programmes across a range of formats (e.g. face-to-face, e-learning, blended learning).
* Ideally, you will have completed CIPD Level 5 in Learning & Development, but we’re also open to candidates who are currently working towards it or willing to do so.
* Skilled in using Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to understand learning needs and shape solutions that support wider business goals.
* Knowledge of learning theories, instructional design, and adult learning principles.
* Confident working with stakeholders at all levels to influence and promote a learning culture.
* Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning tools.
* Based within a commutable distance of Eastington, Gloucestershire, or willing to relocate. Flexibility to attend the office for training, induction, and in-person collaboration, depending on business needs.
