This role is open to existing Blakemore Retail Store Managers only We have an exciting opportunity internally for an Area Support Manager (West 10). This role supports the Area Manager (Andrew Pryce) as required in implementing key business initiatives in each store to maximise store sales and profitability. This is a great opportunity for any successful store manager looking to progress to an Area Manager position, or to have the opportunity to support the business with key projects in the future. Key Tasks/Responsibilities: Deputising for the Area Manager at nominated times, acting as the first point of contact for other stores on the area. Supporting the Area Manager in stores that are under performing and assisting each Store Manager with implementing corrective action plans Supporting the Area Manager by creating and delivering Manager and Assistant/Trainee Manager meetings Engaging positively with internal & external customers To carry out audit training & HR records Working in conjunction with the Human Resources Officers conducting Investigations and Disciplinary hearings Supporting succession planning and people development, including Apprenticeship, YDP and SDP development programmes Supporting the Area Manager with all management recruitment Sharing best practice with colleagues and where possible always encouraging feedback. Maintaining employee and organisational confidentiality in line with the Data Protection Act and GDPR Area Support Manager Requirements: That successful candidates will be on an Area Manager career path Currently manages a successful retail store, demonstrating excellent operating standards, achieving/exceeding budgets whilst developing top staff into key progressive roles Ability to successfully manage this role in addition to current store manager duties Demonstrates ability to manage own time and work accurately to deadlines Ability to analyse business reports and financial information and work proactively to maximise profitability Good working knowledge of Health and Food Safety and legislative responsibilities of a retail environment Ability to generate ideas for driving the business and its team forward Full driving license and access to transport Currently acts as a role model supporting and influencing peers and colleagues Demonstrates "Leading the Blakemore Way" behaviours, management styles and techniques Please download the for more information.
