Job Description
Credit Data Specialist - Commercial Banking - Challenger Bank
Hybrid – minimum 2 days in the office
I’m working with a highly respected ethical and social impact lender that uses its capital to support charities, social enterprises and organisations delivering real change across the UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, mission-driven bank where you’ll have broad visibility across the organisation and genuine influence. Because of the size of the business, you won’t be siloed – you’ll work closely with Credit, Lending, Finance, Risk and senior stakeholders, playing a key role in how the credit portfolio is monitored, analysed and managed.
The Role
This position sits within the credit function and blends credit risk understanding with data analytics. You’ll be responsible for analysing portfolio performance, maintaining high quality credit data, and developing models and reporting that support risk management and strategic decision making.
Key areas include:
• Monitoring and analysing the secured lending portfolio
• Developing and improving credit and impairment models
• Identifying early warning indicators and portfolio risks
• Producing regulatory and portfolio reporting
• Using tools such as Excel, SQL and Python to automate and enhance analytics
The Ideal Background
This role would suit someone who has started their career in credit or lending and then developed stronger technical/data skills, or vice versa.
You’re likely to have:
• Experience in secured commercial lending or credit risk
• A background within a bank, lender, or financial services credit team
• Strong Excel capability
• Experience using SQL and/or Python for data analysis
• An analytical mindset with a strong understanding of credit portfolios

Four day working week (32 hours with full-time pay)
Hybrid working – minimum 2 days in the office
