Salary range: £48,003 - £51,138 p.a. inc. London weighting

* A £5000 'golden hello' for OTs new to Brent, upon completion of their probationary period.
* An annual retention payment of £3000 for eligible frontline workers and managers from Grade PO2 – PO7

Contract: Permanent

Hours of work: 36 hours per week

Location: Civic centre and other locations from time to time

The Post


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist to join the Complex OT Long Term Team within Adult Social Care at the London Borough of Brent. This role is suited to an experienced Occupational Therapist who is confident working with adults with complex physical, functional, housing, and safeguarding needs and who is committed to strengths-based, person-centred practice.

In this role, you will manage a complex caseload and provide specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions to support safe and positive outcomes for residents.

Key responsibilities include:

* Completing complex OT assessments, including manual handling assessments and the recommendation of specialist equipment
* Assessing and recommending minor and major adaptations
* Undertaking housing and void needs assessments
* Supporting safe and timely discharges from placements
* Contributing and overseeing risk management and safeguarding processes management
* Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies
* Provides practice guidance, mentoring, and case advice to other staff across adult social care

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Sensory Impairment Officers, and Care Assessors. Practice in Brent is strengths-based, with a focus on promoting independence, positive risk-taking, and supporting residents to remain active members of their communities.

The Person

We are looking for an Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist with strong professional judgement and experience working with complexity within adult social care or community settings.

You will have:

* A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
* Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Significant experience managing complex caseloads
* Strong expertise in manual handling, specialist equipment, and adaptations
* Experience of housing-related assessments, safeguarding, and discharge planning
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise and work autonomously
