Principal Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist
We are looking for a highly experienced Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist to lead a small team of qualified and trainee psychotherapists and provide clinical leadership to our Under 5s pathway. The role is part‑time (0.6 WTE) based in Worcester with travel across Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a multidisciplinary clinical team, ensuring high standard care for children and families.
* Provide clinical leadership, supervision and training to psychotherapists and trainees.
* Work closely with senior leads to support overall CAMHS service delivery and quality assurance.
* Develop and evaluate child and adolescent psychotherapy interventions within the service.
* Maintain professional practice standards, including registration with the Association of Child Psychotherapists.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
* Doctorate in Child & Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (ACP accredited) and full membership of ACP.
* Registration with the PSA as a child and adolescent psychotherapist.
* Minimum 4 years as a qualified child & adolescent psychotherapist.
* Experience leading psychotherapy teams and service development.
* Evidence of clinical research, service evaluation, and continuous professional development.
* Ability to work autonomously within professional guidelines and policies.
Desirable
* Strategic planning and service development experience.
* Teaching and training experience on recognised psychotherapist courses.
* Publications in peer‑reviewed journals.
* Experience with high‑complexity, risk, diversity, and inequality presentations.
Skills & Abilities
* Strong clinical and leadership skills in a high‑stress environment.
* Excellent communication, influence and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage change and project‑manage clinical and governance projects.
* Proactive and self‑motivated with prioritisation skills.
