Hays are working exclusively with apany based in Malvern who are looking to wee an accounts assistant to their finance team.
Your new role
1. Review supplier invoice e-mail address daily, extracting these for processing.
2. Timely scanning and entry of supplier invoices to accounting system, following a defined process for matching invoices to purchase orders and goods/service receipts in Sage.
3. Ensuring appropriate coding of invoices to nominal ledger codes.
4. Resolution of supplier invoice queries directly with suppliers
5. Supplier set-ups - responsible for maintenance of finance aspects including bank details.
6. Maintenance of accurate supplier ledgers
7. Checking of supplier statements and requesting copies if required.
8. E-mailing remittance advices to suppliers.
9. Preparing sales ledger invoices for review by the Finance Manager, emailing them to the customer and posting them in Sage.
10. Expenses checking and processing, utilising dedicated expenses software.
11. Process bank entries in Sage 200 and carry out bank reconciliations.
12. Weekly and ad-hoc credit control activity by email and telephone, emailing statements and ensuring appropriate liaison with Finance Manager.
13. Providing sales and purchase ledger cover within the finance team.
What you'll need to succeed
14. AAT qualified / part-qualified or other relevant qualifications such as in accountancy or business.
15. Experience of using Sage / Sage 200.
16. Experience of working in a manufacturing or engineering-based business.
17. Can adapt to alternative ways of working, whilst also seeking opportunities to add-value to the business from previous work experience.
18. Experience working in a similar finance position.
