Oakfield Lodge School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cleaner to join our supportive, multi-disciplinary team. We are a 60-place Pupil Referral Unit based in a purpose-built facility in Crewe, providing high-quality education for students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools. Your work will directly contribute to creating a safe, welcoming, and hygienic environment where students can thrive.
About the Role
As a Cleaner, you will:
* Undertake cleaning of designated areas to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
* Carry out tasks such as mopping, sweeping, buffing, spray cleaning, suction cleaning, damp wiping, waste disposal, and cleaning fixtures and fittings.
* Safely use cleaning chemicals, machinery, and equipment in line with health and safety policies and training provided.
* Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people, contributing to the school's ethos and aims.
* Work collaboratively as part of a friendly and professional team.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
* Has NVQ Level 1, BICSs in Cleaning, or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrates a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
* Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Relates well to children and adults, with good communication skills.
* Understands health and safety procedures, COSHH regulations, and hygiene standards.
* Is adaptable, reliable, and takes pride in their work.
* Brings a positive, "can-do" attitude and a commitment to supporting the school community.
