Clerk to the Parish Council
Otterbourne
This is an administrative post involving the preparation of agendas and minutes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, correspondence and implementing Parish Council decisions.
The role includes being the Responsible Financial Officer for the management of the Council’s financial and associated matters, preparation of reports, risk assessments and audit.
The ideal applicant will have sound administrative, financial and IT skills, the ability to work independently and manage variable workload. Communication with Councillors and Local Government organisations is a substantial part of the work. Knowledge of local planning and community matters would be an advantage.
The post is for 15 hours/week, days by arrangement, working from home and attending evening council meetings or as required. The applicant will need home office facilities: a computer, telephone, e-mail and storage for parish files.
Salary NALC, LC1 15 – 25: £15.56 - £18.85 per hour (£20,024-£26,363 pro-rata). An office allowance to be agreed. Training for the role and towards the professional qualification of CiLCA may be provided.
