Contract: Casual (as required)
We are seeking reliable and skilled Casual Marine Services Officers to provide flexible operational support across Bristol City Docks. This role is ideal for individuals with marine experience who are looking for occasional or ad hoc work covering shifts, events, tidal operations and busy periods throughout the year.
Casual Officers play an important part in maintaining continuity of service, ensuring that the harbour remains safe, compliant and efficiently managed.
About The Role
As a Casual Marine Services Officer, you may be called upon to support a range of operational activities, including:
* Undertaking patrols and day to day harbour operations.
* Assisting with vessel movements, berthing and waterway management.
* Supporting bridge and machinery operation during tidal and routine duties.
* Responding to emergency situations and incidents.
* Providing operational cover at Netham Lock when required.
* Supporting events, leisure activity coordination and general harbour use.
What We’re Looking For
* Demonstrable experience in a marine or nautical environment.
* RYA Level 2 Powerboat qualification (essential).
* Confidence working from small boats and in a physically active role.
* Ability to swim.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to handle challenging or sensitive situations.
* Flexibility to work at short notice, including unsocial hours.
* Commitment to undertaking all required training.
