Mechanical Engineer

At Cavendish Nuclear, you will work as a Mechanical Engineer at Torness Power Station, Dunbar, East Lothian.
The role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be a key technical authority supporting operational plant performance within a highly regulated nuclear environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work hands‑on with safety‑critical systems, providing engineering expertise that enables safe, reliable and compliant operations.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with nuclear safety, environmental, quality and legislative requirements across all engineering activities
* Provide technical authority for Management of Change and Management of Operations processes
* Deliver clear advice and documentation to senior leaders, system owners, operators and maintainers
* Own engineering issues by planning, managing and delivering safe, effective mechanical solutions
* Undertake secondary site roles such as Radiological Protection Supervisor or PUWER Assessor, with training provided
Essential experience
* Experience working within a highly regulated industry.
* Proven mechanical engineering fault‑finding and resolution.
* Experience designing and substantiating engineered modification packages
* Ability to deliver turnkey engineering work packages from documentation through to installation and testing
* Competence producing and amending engineering documentation, drawings and method statements.

Working hours
Full-time role, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00.
