Job Summary
We are seeking a detail oriented and skilled Accounting Technician to join our accounts team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial records and supporting the overall financial operations of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Management Accounts – prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
* Statutory Accounts – support in the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external accountants/auditors as required.
* Bank Reconciliations – perform regular reconciliations of company bank accounts.
* Month End – manage accruals, prepayments and other month end adjustments.
* VAT & Compliance – prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC deadlines.
* Systems & Reporting – maintain accounting systems (e.g. Sage, Joblogic) and produce financial reports as needed.
* Financial Analysis – provide cost analysis, budgeting support, and ad hoc financial reporting.
* FD Support – provide accurate data and analysis to support the Finance Director in decision-making.
* Cover – maintain knowledge of wider finance responsibilities to provide cover when needed.
About You
* AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA.
* Strong knowledge of management accounts and statutory accounts processes.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Confident with Excel and accounting software.
* Able to work independently while being a strong team player.
* Flexible and reliable, with good communication skills.
