Spire Gatwick Park are looking for a Business Office Finance Assistant to join their established team. You will be responsible for processing and inputting routine financial transactions accurately and within defined timescales. The successful candidate will also help the hospital achieve and exceed its business volume targets and improve the customer experience by helping establish and embed good processes, delivering against these effectively and efficiently and ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
You will also support the Finance Director with the preparation, delivery and analysis of key financial and statistical information which will enable the hospital leadership team to make well informed decisions that ensure future stability, growth and profitability. And you will proactively monitor and influence the effectiveness of stock and administrative processes within the hospital in order to ensure an accurate reflection of the monthly financial position
Duties & Responsibilities:
* To ensure all billing is actioned promptly and accurately in line with Spire procedure identifying billing problems, placing billing alerts, suspending and clearing as required.
* To establish and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Collecting payments for upcoming outpatient procedures
* Daily maintenance of the departmental shared mailbox
* Support the department to achieve KPI targets – manage unbilled report, resolve patient invoice queries, improve credit card collections
* Support the Finance Director with the preparation of business forecasts and the annual operating plan (AOP) as required.
* Supporting the Finance Director with ad hoc requests- posting of journals, patient queries, improving KPI scores, cost saving initiatives
* Adhoc cashiering & posting entries to the accounting systems according to work instructions.
* Adhoc processing of standard supplier invoices, consultant fees and patient refunds.
* To review and take appropriate action for overdue local plan debt
* To call off daily and monthly reports and action them accordingly to specified work instructions
* Undertake payment collection for self-funding surgical procedures
* Shared responsibility for incoming calls.
* Ensure the completion of month end returns as required for accruals, pre-payments and banking transactions
* Providing cover within the team where and when required
* Responsible for ensuring mandatory training is complete timely.
* Carry out any other duty that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post
What we are looking for:
* Good communication skills – written, verbal and strong interpersonal.
* Knowledge of SAP and wider hospital processes is an advantage. The ability to understand and work with numbers is essential.
* Good organizational skills.
* Able to understand key business processes and other business drivers.
* Role models high standards of personal integrity, displays initiative and identifies opportunities for personal development.
* PC literate, able to adopt and contribute, where required, to the introduction and development of new systems.
* Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
* Experience in healthcare or other customer orientated business is desirable.
* AAT level 1 as a minimum
* Comply with the requirements to undertake health & safety, fire, workplace assessment and any other mandatory training.
* Attend personal performance reviews and agree mutual development plan
