Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced midwife to manage the Maternity Outpatient department in North Devon, including the Antenatal Clinic and Maternity Day Assessment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for antenatal care, service development, and person-centred care. This role involves managing and uniting the Antenatal Clinic and Maternity Day Assessment service at RDUH, supporting teams to deliver safe and efficient care, and providing strong leadership and guidance.
The post holder will also oversee the Treating Tobacco Dependency and Vaccinations in pregnancy pathways in RDUH northern services, working alongside colleagues in Exeter, and will contribute specialist knowledge to develop these services.
About the Role
As a professional role model and clinical leader, you will lead a team of midwives, maternity support workers, Treating Tobacco Dependency Advisors, and Failsafe Officers supporting the Perinatal Pathway for vaccinations in pregnancy. Responsibilities include providing leadership, guidance, supporting policy development, participating in audits, and monitoring incident reports.
You should possess excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills, and be capable of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team. The role involves the daily operational management of the Maternity Outpatient department, reporting to the Midwifery Matron for Outpatients and Public Health.
Working Pattern
30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Pay
The salary reflects the Agenda for Change 2025/6 rates, including a 3.6% pay award to be implemented later this year. If you join before the implementation, the pay will be backdated accordingly.
