Position Overview
Grampian has strong partnerships across Public, Private, Third Sector and Communities in the Northeast with many examples of good practice and innovation to protect and improve population health. The pandemic has compounded many of the health challenges we are grappling with, which are significant and in places worsening. NHS Grampian forms one of the fourteen regional health boards of NHS Scotland and is responsible for providing health and social care services to a population of over 500,000 people living in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with the Director of Public Health and the Senior Team to provide leadership and capacity to deliver our Plan for the Future.
* Ensure the effective delivery of specialist Public Health advice to a wide range of stakeholders.
* Commission high quality Public Health Services.
* Develop Community‑Centred Health Improvement Programmes for the population of Grampian.
* Nurture and grow the skills in the team.
* Deputise for the Director of Public Health.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required (licence must be in place prior to starting in post).
* Medical Consultant appointments: candidates who trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview.
* CESR or Portfolio Pathway doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive Consultant post once CESR or Portfolio Pathway specialist registration is awarded.
* International Recognised Specialist Qualification approved by GMC: should have a confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
* Successful non‑medical candidates are appointed on Agenda for Change T&Cs at Band 9.
