As a charity with rich heritage and a long history of serving humanity, we are proud of our past and excited about creating a healthier, safer, more resilient future.

St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, and Young Responders programmes).

This role is a fixed term contract for 12 months.

Job Summary

At St John Ambulance we are proud to be England’s first aid charity and have ambitious plans to become the leading authority in Event Healthcare. We are looking for a proactive and organised Event Healthcare Coordinator to play a key role in planning and delivering high-quality first aid and medical provision at a wide range of events.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced operational environment and enjoys building strong relationships with customers, volunteers, and multi‑agency partners. You will take ownership of the end‑to‑end coordination of events within your region, ensuring resources, logistics, staffing, equipment and operational plans are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

About You

You will be a highly organised and motivated individual with experience in operational planning, coordination and delivery, ideally within a fast‑paced or event‑focused environment. Comfortable managing multiple priorities, you will have the confidence to take ownership of end‑to‑end event planning while ensuring exceptional standards of service, safety and patient care are maintained throughout.

You will be an excellent communicator who can build strong working relationships with customers, volunteers, colleagues and external partners. With the ability to work collaboratively across teams and agencies, you will thrive in situations that require problem‑solving, adaptability and attention to detail.

To be successful in this role you will have experience using planning systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, alongside strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines. Experience in operations planning, project coordination or emergency/event environments would be advantageous.

About the Role

* Lead the end‑to‑end planning and coordination of Event Healthcare provision across a range of events and activities
* Develop operations plans, risk assessments and resource requirements to ensure safe and effective event delivery
* Coordinate staffing, vehicles, equipment and logistics to meet agreed levels of medical and first aid provision
* Build strong relationships with customers, volunteers, local authorities and multi‑agency partners to deliver exceptional service
* Monitor event performance, produce reports and support continuous improvement through effective evaluation and feedback
* Represent St John at planning meetings and contribute to the delivery of large scale and mass participation events
