Senior Water Management Officer
Wyre Forest District Council is looking for a Senior Water Management Officer to protect and enhance the water environment in north Worcestershire.
Responsibilities
* Lead response and planned work in the Redditch area, responding to planning applications and authorising consents for works in watercourses.
* Assist with flood event response, investigate flooding and drainage problems and support the council in maintaining watercourses.
* Collaborate with the Environment Agency, Severn Trent Water and other partners on flood defence schemes, community engagement and watercourse management.
Qualifications
* A degree in a environmental or related discipline.
* Knowledge of watercourses and experience analysing and producing reports.
* Negotiation skills to work with developers on sustainable drainage scheme opportunities.

* Temporary position covering adoption leave of the current postholder, lasting up to 12 months.
* Vehicle required, ability to walk across rough ground and occasional work outside normal office hours.
