Service Care Legal are working with a local authority in Bedfordshire who are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Officer with strong expertise in Right to Buy transactions to join their Legal Services team on a fixed-term basis.
ROLE: Right to Buy Legal Officer
LOCATION: Bedfordshire / Hybrid
RATE: 30ph LTD / 26.72ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / 23.84ph PAYE exc. holiday pay
CONTRACT: 3 months with possibility of extension, 36 hours per weel
Please note that this this would be a hybrid working position.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage high-volume Right to Buy caseloads, ensuring timely and compliant property transactions
* Draft, review, and process legal documents related to property disposals and conveyancing
* Investigate title issues, prepare reports, and advise on legal implications
* Serve statutory notices and handle post-completion formalities
* Liaise with councils, external solicitors, and stakeholders to facilitate case progression
* Ensure adherence to relevant laws and policies, managing risks discreetly
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience handling Right to Buy schemes and residential conveyancing
* Excellent knowledge of English land law and conveyancing procedures
* Previous experience of working within a local authority would be highly advantageous
* Effective communicator with keen attention to detail
* Legal qualification such as a Law degree or Graduate Diploma in Law preferred
