Job Title: Outdoor Learning Instructor Location: Knutsford, Cheshire School Type: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) School Contract Type: Full time Salary: £24k to £28k Start Date: ASAP About the Role: We are looking for a passionate and creative Outdoor Learning Instructor to join our dedicated team at a specialist SEND school in Knutsford. This is a unique opportunity to help pupils with a range of additional needs thrive through meaningful outdoor learning experiences. The successful candidate will deliver outdoor sessions that support students' social, emotional, physical, and academic development in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities: * Plan and deliver engaging, safe, and inclusive outdoor learning sessions tailored to the needs of pupils with SEND. * Use nature and outdoor activities to promote confidence, independence, and teamwork. * Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and support staff to integrate outdoor learning with wider educational goals. * Create and maintain a safe outdoor environment and ensure all activities are risk-assessed. * Support individual pupils with varying needs, including autism, social and emotional difficulties, and complex learning needs. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: * Experience working with children or young people with SEND (essential). * A background in outdoor education, forest school, or similar (desirable qualifications include Forest School Leader Level 3, outdoor first aid). * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Patience, adaptability, and a nurturing approach. * A strong understanding of safeguarding and health & safety in an outdoor setting. * The ability to inspire and motivate pupils through practical, hands-on learning.
