Job Summary
West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is progressing the next stage of work to deliver a new Watford General Hospital, supported by NHS England and the New Hospital Programme. This role supports a high profile redevelopment programme, including proposals for Mount Vernon Cancer Centre services, undertaken in collaboration with UCLH.

Pay: £51,657 to £58,785 a year incl. HCA, Fixed term, 2 years, Full‑time, Flexible working.
Main Duties
* Plan, manage and deliver a portfolio of redevelopment and enabling works projects, including service decant and relocation activities, ensuring delivery to agreed time, cost and quality parameters.
* Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules and programme milestones, incorporating phased service moves where required.
* Support planning and coordination of decant and relocation programmes, ensuring safe transition with minimal disruption to patient care.
* Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions.
* Maintain effective project governance, including action logs, risk registers and decision logs.
* Assist monitoring project budgets and costs associated with relocation and enabling works.
* Facilitate effective working relationships between clinical, operational and corporate teams.
* Represent a professional image and contribute to a positive team culture and stakeholder relationships.
* Promote a culture aligned with Trust values: empowered, compassionate, professional and inclusive.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or relevant previous experience in programme/project management office and successful delivery.
* Principles and practice of change management theories or relevant experience.
* Project or change management best practice.
* Knowledge of NHS processes.
* MS Office including MS Project.
* Relevant experience of operational or project implementation.
* Proven ability to prioritise and organise workload.
* Experience at management level.
* Experience in financial management and budgeting skills.
* Experience of dealing with conflict and working with colleagues to agree remedial action.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* PRINCE2 practitioner, or equivalent project management qualification.
* Experience of completing projects of change within a healthcare setting.
* Knowledge of NHS contracting process.
* NHS or other public service background.
