Technical Support Officer - Compliance
Harlow District Council – Essex County Council (ECC) is recruiting a temporary Technical Support Officer to work on a 12‑month basis. The post requires the successful candidate to be based on site three days per week. The role is paid £150.00 per day (umbrella) and is full‑time.
Job Purpose
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our compliance team as a technical support officer. Being reliable, a team player, and having a can‑do attitude with an aptitude for learning new technical and administrative processes quickly is key.
The Role
Provide support to the compliance team with respect to:
* General administration – meeting notes, filing certificates, etc.
* Booking appointments for statutory compliance checks.
* Monitoring internal systems for alerts and bringing them to the attention of the appropriate technical officer.
* Receiving and logging enquiries and bringing them to the attention of the appropriate technical officer.
* Monitoring other sources of enquiry such as our email inbox and bringing matters to the attention of the appropriate technical officer.
Experience You Bring
* An interest in working within the housing repairs and maintenance sector.
* Willingness to learn and adapt while working with a technical compliance team.
* Aware of good customer service and the importance of health and safety in a housing environment.
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths, or demonstrable relevant customer service/admin experience.
* IT literate with a good working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and Excel and the ability to accurately input data.
* Data management – ability to maintain accurate records and track progress (e.g. logging calls, processing forms).
* Clear, confident communicator suitable for speaking with residents, contractors, and colleagues.
* Good time management with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
