This role requires a high level of clinical expertise, decision-making autonomy, and a commitment to maintaining exemplary standards of patient care and service delivery within the Endoscopy Units.

Responsibilities

* Undertake independent endoscopy lists at Northern Lincolnshire & Goole NHS Foundation Trust (Scunthorpe General Hospital and Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital), and provide cross-cover for Humber Health Partnership (Castle Hill Hospital and Hull Royal Infirmary) on occasion.
* Act as a specialist clinical resource supporting colleagues and contributing to the development of advanced practice to ensure Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accreditation standards/requirements.
* Work collaboratively within the MDT to develop, review, and implement Endoscopy policies, protocols, and clinical guidelines.
* Participate in audit and quality assurance processes, including complication tracking, outcomes analysis, waiting time performance, safety audits, and mortality reviews.
* Promote continuous clinical improvement, ensuring practice aligns with national standards (BSG, JAG, NICE), Trust governance frameworks, and patient safety priorities.
* Support education and training, role model and provide specialist advice to junior staff, trainees, and members of the wider MDT.

You will join a team of four Clinical Endoscopists, collaborate closely with unit managers, service managers, and the clinical lead to ensure a cohesive, efficient and responsive service. You will form part of the wider MDT, contributing to collaborative patient‑centered care, and consistent service standards across sites.

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.

Made up of two Trusts – Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) – the partnership has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world‑class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.

We employ nearly 20,000 staff across five main hospital sites: Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital; Scunthorpe General Hospital; Goole and District Hospital (NLAG); Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital (HUTH).

As teaching hospitals working with Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas – biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.

We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our partnership and our community.
