Purchasing Manager / Buyer – Take Ownership & Drive Change in a business known for being the best in all that they do!
Location: Near Lancaster/Morecambe Fully office-based (with free parking)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm or 9am–5pm (your choice), with a paid 1-hour lunch

Salary on Offer: £36-£42k doe
We’re on the lookout for a highly motivated and forward-thinking Purchasing Manager/Buyer to take full ownership of our clients procurement function.
This is not your average purchasing role – it’s a key leadership position in our growing, family-run business where you’ll make a meaningful impact from day one.
From shaping the purchasing strategy to managing supplier relationships, you’ll be the go-to expert, playing a vital part in driving smarter, faster, and more cost-effective decisions.
This role is very data driven and attention to detail is an attribute we can’t do without
What You’ll Be Doing
Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with overall business goals.
Source, negotiate with, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Analyse purchasing data to identify trends, opportunities for savings, and any supplier performance concerns.
Take full ownership of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central procurement and stock tracking tools.
Forecast demand and manage inventory levels in line with sales trends and lead times.
Collaborate closely with finance, operations, and sales teams to ensure purchasing supports broader objectives.
Continuously improve purchasing processes and introduce fresh ideas to strengthen efficiency and results.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in a purchasing, procurement, or buying role, ideally in a high-turnover or product-led environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and use Excel confidently.
Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
A proactive, independent approach – someone who enjoys autonomy and is ready to shape their own role.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Desirable:
Experience working with ERP or inventory management systems (particularly Business Central).
Familiarity with supply chain logistics or demand forecasting tools.
