Adecco are recruiting on behalf of Richmond & Wandsworth Council for a Public Health Lead - Diabetes & Workplace Wellbeing. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced public health professional to provide strategic leadership and deliver impactful initiatives focused on diabetes prevention, awareness, and workplace wellbeing across both boroughs.

Pay: £27.46 per hour (PAYE) / £35.94 per hour (Umbrella)
Location: Twickenham
Working Arrangements: The post requires 40% office-based working, alongside attendance at any required in-person meetings, with work undertaken across Richmond and Wandsworth.
Hours: Part time, 24 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Public Health Lead to provide strategic leadership and delivery across diabetes prevention, awareness, and workplace wellbeing initiatives within Richmond and Wandsworth.
This role plays a key part in assurance reporting, partnership working, and driving forward evidence based activity aligned with borough priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead assurance reporting for the Diabetes STEP programme, ensuring delivery against objectives within both boroughs' Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategies.
* Develop and deliver diabetes prevention and awareness information and activities as part of the Healthy Workplaces programme.
* Finalise and present the Workplace Diabetes Survey Insight Report, including clear recommendations and next steps, to be shared with the Directorate Management Team (DMT).
* Work collaboratively with other Public Health Leads to align activity and share best practice.
* Develop and finalise case studies to showcase effective practice and evidence impact.
* Deliver further Diabetes UK Ambassador training, including refresher sessions and upskilling on stigma awareness.
* Co support the Ambassadors Group to plan and deliver workplace activities and provide ongoing support.
* Support the implementation of healthy eating and workplace wellbeing improvements, including lunch and break time initiatives, informed by staff surveys and Ambassador feedback.
* Support external employers with diabetes initiatives through Connect to Work and the promotion of workplace resources.
Future Development and Partnership Work:
* Support the development of a community diabetes and dementia awareness walk, linking with existing dementia friendly health walks.
* Work in partnership with the Diabetes UK Richmond and Twickenham Group, supporting engagement through meetings, events, and information sharing.
Top 3 Skills:
* Ability to finalise workplace diabetes survey insight reports and provide clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders including DMT
* Strong collaboration skills with experience working alongside other Public Health Leads
* Experience in developing impactful case studies to showcase good practice and evidence outcomes
Qualifications:
* Higher degree or postgraduate qualification in public health or a related field, or equivalent knowledge gained through postgraduate training
* Registered with a relevant public health body or working towards registration (e.g. UKPHR)
