Senior Commercial Manager – Responsibilities
* Manage all commercial aspects of the operational unit and maintain regular liaison with stakeholders.
* Build a high‑performing team and continually improve through monthly project reviews and executive team briefings.
* Implement the commercial strategy for the unit, including tenders, client engagement events and pipeline development.
* Set the annual business plan with the Operations Director and drive the work‑winning process.
* Develop and mentor Commercial Practitioners, supporting AP/consultant careers.
* Maximise cash position, WIP control, cash flow production and improvement plans.
* Review contractual obligations and commercial risks before tender submission and attend settlement meetings.
* Manage project controls—value, cost, production, supply chain—and negotiate client contracts to minimise risk.
* Conduct commercial audits for other business units and lead business improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
* Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent.
* Substantial commercial experience in the construction industry.
* Expert knowledge of standard forms of contract, standard methods of measurement, programming techniques and project controls.
* Strong relationship management at senior peer level.
* Previous experience managing a team and large projects of £50 million plus.
