About the role
The Biostatistics Research Group, Division of Public Health and Epidemiology at the University of Leicester are seeking a Senior Research Associate/Research Fellow to join them on a fixed term basis for a period of up to 3 years. The successful candidate will play a central role in the NIHR-MRC funded methodology research programme involving methods for evaluation of surrogate endpoints and their use in health technology assessment (HTA). The research will involve undertaking a range of techniques, including individual participant data (IPD) and multivariate meta-analysis methods development, survival analysis for extrapolations and decision modelling. The role offers valuable experience in the analysis of data from a range of sources of evidence, including clinical trials and electronic health records, and engagement with interdisciplinary stakeholders including academics, public and patients’ representatives, industry representatives and policy-makers (including NICE).
About you
This is an excellent opportunity for a methodologist with a strong foundation in statistical methods applied to HTA research, who is looking to further develop their expertise. As the successful applicant, you will have a PhD in Medical Statistics / Statistics / Biostatistics / Health Economics or a closely related area. You will have excellent skills and postdoctoral level experience in advanced evidence synthesis, including Bayesian inference as well as effective interpersonal skills. You will work alongside an interdisciplinary team to deliver the research aims. In addition, the postholder will be supported and encouraged to develop their own methodological research interests and develop a personal fellowship application.
